History

Biomain was founded in 2002 under the name Impladent.

The company started as a general agent for the American dental company Sterngold Implamed. Biomain (Impladent) soon realised that the market was expanding fast and was on the verge of a shift in technology involving automated production. Biomain then started manufacturing components for the market's leading implant systems. As the company manufactured more components for more systems Biomain (Impladent) grew, leading to rapid expansion of the company and the opening of a new office in Helsingborg.

In 2003 Biomain launched prefabricated cylinders made of CoCr. This new product was Biomain's first globally unique product. In 2004 Biomain started development of its own CAD/CAM product: milled KBF bridges made of titanium. The I-Bridge® was born.

Biomain was the first company to manufacture prefabricated CoCr cylinders.

During all this product development the implant market reached a milestone. In 2004 Biomain was the first company to directly target end consumers (patients), offering them implant treatment at a fixed price. The campaign ‘Fixed teeth at a fixed price’ was a success. Biomain collaborated with around 100 dentists throughout Sweden, together helping nearly 10,000 patients get implants at a fair price. A new way of targeting patients had now begun.

In 2005 I-Bridge was launched at Swedental with great pomp and circumstance, and ever since it has been a sought-after product in the field of milled titanium and CoCr structures. The following year saw the launch of I-Bridge 2 with its angled screw channels. This unique product facilitated work at fixture level, and simultaneous angling of the screw channels by up to 20°. Better aesthetics at a better price was the catch phrase.

In 2007 Biomain went beyond Sweden's borders and formed a subsidiary in Germany. Biomain's products are now represented through a number of distributors, and expansion has continued in new markets.

Since then I-Bridge has developed into one of the market's most sought after products, as it features a wide range of systems and materials. In 2009 the zirconium model was launched, making the product absolutely unique.

In 2009 head office and production moved to bright new premises in Helsingborg. This gathering of product development, manufacture and sales in one and the same place resulted in greater efficiency and improved customer service.
